Chestnut House exemplifies traditional Anglo-Indian hill cottage architecture, built using regional materials and vernacular construction techniques designed to withstand harsh mountain elements:
Masonry and Structure: Thick whitewashed walls constructed from local stone provide natural thermal regulation—keeping rooms warm in winter and cool during summer. Pitched gabled roofs allow heavy monsoon rain and winter snow to shed easily.
