Deities and Mula Vigraha Configuration:
The temple’s Garbha Griha (sanctum sanctorum) follows a Bahu-Vera Vidhana, meaning multiple deities are enshrined in a single sanctum. A grand, three-tiered Simhasana holds the deities:
Top Tier: Sri Lakshmi Narasimha (center), flanked by Pattabhi Narasimha and Veera Vittala.
Middle Tier: Kodanda Rama with Sita and Lakshmana, Hayagriva, Varadaraja with consorts, and Gopalkrishna.
Bottom Tier: Venkataramana with Sridevi and Bhudevi, along with Hanuman and Garuda.
Separate shrines for Saligramas and Naga Devatas are installed below the main Simhasana. Venkataramana serves as the Uthsava Vigraha during festivals.

Sub-Shrines and Architecture:
The outer prakaram houses shrines dedicated to Hanuman, Ganapathy, Mahalakshmi, and Vithoba-Rakhumai. A separate shrine for Shiva lies near the temple pond. A striking copper-clad Dhwaja Stambha (flagstaff) stands prominently in the courtyard. The temple displays traditional Kerala-style architecture with tiled roofs, laterite masonry, and intricate woodwork.

All rituals follow the Dvaita tradition, as per Kashi Math sampradaya. Only hereditary GSB priests, known as Bhats, perform the daily and festival aradhanas (services). Their role in preserving traditions has remained unbroken for generations.
Major Festivals Brahma Rathotsava (Annual Chariot Festival), Karthik Pournami, Navarathri
These are celebrated with grandeur, attracting devotees from across the region. The Rathotsava includes processions, flag hoisting, and special homas.
The temple is easily accessible, located about 0.5 km from Thalassery Railway Station and Bus Stand. The Kannur International Airport, approximately 24.5 km away, connects it to major cities.
Conservation and Status:
The temple continues to be maintained by the GSB community with support from the local managing committee. Periodic renovations have preserved the structure’s integrity, with efforts underway to digitize historical records and improve amenities for pilgrims.
Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple remains a vital religious, cultural, and architectural landmark of Thalassery, symbolizing the enduring legacy of the GSB community in Kerala.
