Accidentally ascended the throne after her father King George's VI death in 1952 due to inevitable turmoil within the royal British family in the wake of abduction of Edward VIII in December1936 Queen Elizabeth II, who died peacefully on September 8, 2022 at Balmoral aged 96 became the UK's longest-serving of any female monarch in world history. She overshot her grandma Queen Victoria and Empress of India (24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901; aged 81) who died in January, 1901, whose reign lasted 63 years and seven months till 1901.

Important event that took place in the Queens busy life included her coronation in 1953 and the celebrations of her Silver, Golden, and Diamond Jubilees in 1977, 2002, and 2012, respectively. She became the first British monarch to reach a Sapphire Jubilee in 2017.
Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926, at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947, she married the prince taking the title of Duke of Edinburgh. Her son prince Charles is already proclaimed as the King of Britain. The queen was a graceful and affable woman and carried on her customary and traditional duties as the British queen with dedication and commitments. She along with her husband travelled to many common wealth countries and mingled with people of varied cultures.
Unlike her late husband Duke of Edinburgh whose frequent gaffes garnered him a lot of criticism from the public over the years, Queen Elisabeth was very careful when facing the media or the public. When it comes to the British rule in India and their colonial atrocities, in particular, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919 and the great Bengal famine of the early 1940s, I wish the late queen had apologized to India or at least said, ''I am sorry for the wrongs committed in the past.'' She was not part of the colonial misrule and exploitation, but her predecessors were, including Queen Victoria to whom the loot -Koh-i-noor diamond and the world famous largest Timur Ruby were handed over as gifts from Punjab by the looters - East India company. Had she done it she would have won every heart of the people in the subcontinent.
