Lawrence School at Sanawar set in the serene Kasauli Hills, Himachal Pradesh became the first school in the world to boldly send a team of six students on an expedition to scale the roof of the world Mt. Everest. The courageous students
in the age group of 15 to 17 had summitted the highest peak on 21 May 2013 and made a niche for themselves in the mountaineering history of Mt. Everest. Befitting their School's motto of their school "Never give in", they undertook the most difficult job in the midst of their academic commitments. These teenagers Guribadat Singh, Prithvi Singh, Ajay Sohal, Shubham, Fateh Singh and Raghav Juneja made their school become the first one in the world to achieve this great feat. They made the final assault at mid night from the Southern face of the massif. As usual, they carried with them a traditional prayer flag given by the locals who revere the mountain.
