The Agra Fort is a fine piece of Mogul architecture and ingenuity. Jahangiri Mahal inside the Agra Fort (Agra, utter Pradesh) is an amazing building that attracts a lot of visitors and it is the largest part of the fort. The Jahangir Mahal was the main place of stay called zenana - palace exclusively for royal women and, in this case, it was particularly used by the Rajput wives of Akbar. It is a mix of Hindu and Central Asian architecture.
It is worthwhile mentioning that the Jahangiri Mahal is the only portion of the Fort walls, besides the Gates distinguished by the lovely ornamental work as one will find in the eastern facade. The architectural setting of the Jahangiri Mahal has different components that bring out the essence of grandeur and beauty of Mogul architecture. Yet another feature is the exquisite surface ornamentation including marble inlay and intricate geometric and floral patterns. An interesting feature one will find here is that of a huge stone bowl called Hauz-i-Jahangiri which is ornate and delicately carved. It is made out of a single piece of stone. Considering the artistic work of this bowl, the artisans would have taken quite a bit of time to finish it successfully. This was used as a container for fragrant rose water.
