Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, Bangalore, India, a good example of Indo-Islamic architecture is within the prescient of the Bangalore Fort. It was used as a summer residence by Tipu Sultan. It was Hyder Ali who commenced the construction of this palace, but it was completed in 1791 by his son Tipu, a courageous warrior and a sworn enemy of the British and their hegemony. His beautiful palace at Bangalore was taken over by the British Administration who used it as their Secretariat before moving over to Attara Kacheri in 1868.
