About classic cars, is  there anyone  who does not like  these beauties of  by-gone  years? Not only do they  carry old charm but also the glory of   luxurious life of ex royal rulers of India and other rich and famous people.  As years went by,  one could see the gradual evolution of the automobile vehicles in terms of quality, design and easy operations. The designs, engine, varying from 4 to 12 cylinders powered by efficient high powered engines,  transmission, better independent suspension, strong chassis, breaking system, etc., saw gradual improvements. Among the fancy, luxury cars, Rolls Royce was a favorite one. It was Indian Maharajahs who popularized the Rolls Royce, each ordering more than two or four at a time for ready cash. Their opulence was quite stunning.

The modern cars, have the latest  automobile technology and efficient engines and better comforts, but they lack personality and majesty as you will find in the old beauties.

Mercedes-Benz:  The Mercedes-Benz Type 300  with chassis codes W186, W188, and W189  were the company's flagship models Produced in the 1950s. Similar to the top of today's S-Class, the Type 300 cars were elegant, powerful, exclusive, and expensive. A four-door tourer equal in luxury and price but superior in performance to similar competitors; Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and BMW 501,
The four-door models  300, 300b, 300c (chassis code 186), and successor 300d (chassis code 189)  are all often identified in sources as the Adenauer Mercedes after Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. The four door "W186" Type 300 was introduced in November, 1951.

Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in April 1951, the four door "W186" Type 300 entered series production in November 1951. Rigid X-shaped ovoid steel tube frame and four-wheel independent suspension,  Double wishbones, coil springs, and a stabilizer bar were used up front and Mercedes' typical double coil spring swing axle in rear - are noteworthy features.

Packard:  Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan USA  from 1935 to 1937 and from 1939 through the 1941  introduced several models. The models featured Safe-T-Flex" suspension. The essential feature is  the independent front suspension called  "Safe-T-Flex" suspension. Packard with Six cylinder engine was popular.
For 1938, the 'One-Twenty name 'was replaced by  Packard Eight model range and then to Six. Packard model range; 1939–1941: the One-Twenty continued to be offered in a full range of body styles from coupe to Touring Limousine, with affordable prices within $ 1699.00.


Maybach:  Maybach  was a German car manufacturer. The company was founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son. Mabach cars were known for their superior quality, workmsnship, style and elegance, a challenge to Rolls Royce luxury cars. The Luxery car company does not exist today. Hitlers's official car was Maybach.Founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach and his son, son Karl Maybach, the company, originally a subsidiary of Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH,, was known to produce classic opulent cars rich in style and appearence.. In 1912 the company name changed to  Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH ("Maybach Engine Construction Company"). The company first built an experimental car in 1919, two years later introduced a production model at the Berlin Motor Show. Between 1921 and 1940, the company produced a variety of luxury cars, now regarded as classics. The company also  side by side produced heavy-duty diesel engines for marine and rail purposes.1936 Maybach SW38: 3.8L 140 hp (104 kW) I6. Around 1800 Maybachs were built before WW II.

Hispano-Suiza : Hispano-Suiza (literally: Spanish-Swiss) was a Spanish automotive and engineering firm, best known for its luxury cars and aviation engines pre-World War II. In 1923,  First started in  1898 a Spanish artillery captain, Emilio de la Cuadra, who later along with Swiss engineer Marc Birkigt (1878–1953)   built their first gasoline-powered engines from a Birkigt design. After World War I, Hispano-Suiza returned to automobile manufacturing and in 1919 they introduced the Hispano-Suiza H6. Through the 1920s and into the 1930s, Hispano-Suiza built a series of luxury cars with overhead camshaft engines of increasing performance.
H6C(1924–29), 6cylinderengine powered by 160HP   8000cc engine displacement. wheel drum brakes with Hispano Suiza power-assisted brakes.  Manual transmission, 3 gears and reverse; speed137 km/h (85 mph).   


Ford 26  T5 – This design change made the greatest difference in the appearance of the car. The hood was again enlarged with the cowl panel  blending much more with the line of the hood called  high hood  style.  The styling on the fifth generation was slghtly different -  the body  was much wider and had curved doors as opposed to the flat doors on the T.  The engine was a water-cooled L-head inline 4-cylinder with a displacement of 201 cu in (3.3 l). This engine provided 40 hp (30 kW; 41 PS). Top speed was around 65 mph (105 km/h) as common in A models. The Model A had 4-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Rolls-Royce: Rolls-Royce Limited is a reputed British car and aero-engine manufacturing  company founded by Charles Stewart Rolls and Sir Frederick Henry Royce on 15 March 1906 as the result of a partnership formed in 1904. Earlier in 1884 Henry Royce started an electrical and mechanical business. He made his first car, a two-cylinder Royce 10, in his Manchester factory in 1904,  Rolls was proprietor of an early motor car dealership, C.S.Rolls & Co. in Fulham and came in contact with Royce.in the same year.

Their car ranges included  quality engine powered by  10 to 40 HP. With superior  workmanship, all cars carry in the front the car's special  symbol ''Spirit of Ecstasy.'' The famous early models included  Silver Ghost, Phantom, and Wraith.


Cord:  Cord  was the brand name of an American automobile company based  in Connersville, Indiana. Cord 29 was the first front wheel car to be offered to the American public in 1929  and produced by   by the Auburn Automobile Company from 1929 to 1932 and again in 1936 and 1937. Noted for its innovative technology and streamlined designs, Cord had a plan  to build truly different, innovative cars, it was  founded and run by E. L. Cord as a holding company. Cord innovations included front-wheel drive on the L-29 and hidden headlamps on the 810 and 812.

Hotchkiss cars: They were made between 1903 and 1955 by the French company Hotchkiss et Cie in Saint-Denis, Paris.1958 Hotchkiss.

Langonda 2: The car was named by the company after the Shawnee settlement "Lagonda" in modern-day Springfield, Ohio, USA. It is a beauty. British luxury car Marque established in 1906, which had been owned by Aston Martin since 1947.
