Christ Church, on the way to Srirangam, near north of  Teppakulam in Tiruchirapalli Corporation, Tamil Nadu, India was one of the oldest churches in the state. It was built by Fr. Christian Schwartz, an Angelo-Saxon missionary of Thanjavur  in the year 1762 to 1766. It belongs to the society for the propagation of the gospel.
Fr. Schwartz took so much pain to build this Church and he approached many people for monetary aids for the construction of this Church. About this church, two factors are worthy of mention. Most of the funds to build this church came from British Garrison officers who had been stationed here for sometimes. it is believed the church has a  tomb of Rebecca Drake (1777) whose grand daughter married  the Prime Minister of Britain Sir Robert Peel, a British Conservative statesman, who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 10 December,1834 to 8, April,1835, and again from 30 August,1841 to 29 June,1846. Lots of people visit this historical church built during the East India company's rule.
